Joyce Meyer explains that a life without purpose is a life not worth living. We all need a reason to get up everyday. We all need to reach for something beyond ourselves. Over the centuries, millions of people have asked, "What am I here for? What is my purpose?" We are born; we live; and we die. We cannot do anything about being born or dying, but we can do a lot about how we live. In this audiobook, Joyce dares listeners to live with purpose and passion and discover the profound effect this will have on their lives.
This spiritual self-help book is the latest in a host of Meyer titles. Read by Meyer's youngest daughter, the message is personal and engaging, infused with an openness and honesty that provide narrative drive. The slightly nasal quality of Sandra McCollom's voice impedes listening for long periods of time but works for short stretches. Also, the sentences start and stop at counterintuitive intervals that are hard to follow. This is a book that some listeners may start and stop, perhaps even listening to some chapters of interest and skipping others. Given the mission of the self-help spiritual genre, there is probably no harm in that. M.R. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
